Repertoire

On this page, you’ll find the pieces I’m playing and teaching. I intend to put here information, recordings and videos about them. I’m still working on it, it is not complete yet. I will be updating it little by little. Check it out regularly!

The traditional repertoire consists in about 150 honkyoku (solo pieces). Each school makes its own selection and plays them with its particular style. I’ll present the pieces I’m playing in different categories, according to their origin or function.

Even though they come from different sources, the unity is given by the style, the Hijiri-ryu style: expression, strong breath control and mouvement.

Here is a honkyoku playlist, to give you an idea of the music. The tracks are no professional recordings, but recordings for practice purpose.
